The Cord Obsession

You have an obsession...with cords...exactly the thing that babies are not supposed to play with. But every morning when Mommy gets out of the shower, you immediately ask me to open my cupboard so you can grab the hairdryers and curling irons. And off you go, with about 3-4 in your hands to the return air vent in the living room. You know which type of cords stay best in the vent when you "plug them in". And I take no blame or credit for this little game you play-you thought it up all on your own. You are one who likes to figure out what goes together. And since you know you are not allowed or able to actually plug things into outlets, you came up with this idea. Not Mommy's favorite thing you do, but you are just so obsessed with cords! It is something I have given into. It all started with the vacuum actually. You loved to see Mommy plug in the vacuum to turn it on. We have had many conversations about how you know that the cord goes into the outlet. I just say, "Yes, that's the vacuum cord. Yes, that's called an outlet. Yes, you are right, the cord goes into the outlet. But no, Baby, we are not going to plug it in right now...I know you want to, but we are not going to vacuum right now. I'm sorry, don't get so sad. Mommy just got up and it's 7 am Camden. I don't want to vacuum!" (But some times you have actually magically got me to vacuum at 7 am against my will. Not really sure how that happens, but it does). Anyway, that is your cord story. It is a funny one I hope you enjoy hearing when you get older.

Hi!

Hey everybody! Camden is back! This is him at just about 20 months (photo taken at the end of January). He is such a little toddler now. He talks a bit, dances, loves Elmo, likes to brush his own teeth, has to have a frosted animal cracker after every meal, and has his own little jokes. He is an awesome, snugly, sweet boy that is enjoyed by his family greatly! He is very into cleaning when Mommy does, loves anything with a cord, has to have Mommy take the vacuum out of the closet to hang out with every few days. He puts his hand up to his ear as if it was a phone and walks around talking on it! That is always a hilarious thing to see. He loves it when is snows, and insisted on going out in it at 7:20 am a week ago. He loves dogs and has a stuffed one that is his first favorite little animal to snuggle with at night. He is finally letting us put him to bed and walk out of the room before he is asleep. That has been a long, long process. And he is also often sleeping through the night finally-thank you Lord! He loves his kitties-gives Harley pets and kisses, but antagonizes Ranger by hollering at him so that Ranger will meow back in a, "Don't talk to me", kind of way. He is a runner! And he does not like to run alone! Mom or Dad must be chasing him most of the time...and he is fast! What we will do when he gets a little older, I do not know. Life with little Camden is a blessing each and every day. He fills our lives with so much laughter and happiness-I cannot imagine not having this little dude around! So there is a little recap. It has been a really long time since Mommy has worked on the blog-it has just been too much to keep up with-not that I don't want to though. I still fill out a calendar for him of little things he does daily, and write him a recap at the end of each month, so the documenting has not stopped, just condensed. Maybe someday I will feel that I can get back to blogging more regularly...only time will tell!
