While in Bothell

Auntie Tess put you to work

You played along side of your cousins

And you had snuggly naps with your Auntie.

In other words, you had a great time and you cannot wait to go back! And either can we!

This Summer You...

Are enjoying your new giraffe pool. You are more of a water baby than we would have ever guessed you would be!

Are loving running around! You just recently started walking and quickly figured out how to run! All I can say is that it has changed your whole world (and ours for that matter!)

Are loving to explore in the grass. You love to look for pine needles, leaves, and anything else you can spot.

Are loving your new wagon! Two months after your birthday, we finally got it put together and took it for it's first spin. You did not say a single word-just enjoyed the ride.

Love sunglasses! I did not know if we would see the day when you would want to wear them-but just in time for the sunny days of July, you decided you think they are fun and silly!

Lately You-Pt.3

You are working on your walking...and bending over...and getting back up. And you are getting very good at it! Good job Baby!

Fourteen Months Old

It has been quite the month! We started it off with a trip to the cabin for the Fourth of July. We took your walker so you could try it out on the new driveway, you had your first real bites of watermelon, and practice your walking around the cabin. When we got back home, much of the Scott family arrived from California and Seattle for your Great Grandpa Dick's funeral. We spent several days visiting with this family that you have never met before. And at the beginning of the month we knew you were going to start walking very soon, but we had no idea how quickly it would change EVERYTHING we do! You are so happy to have so much freedom, but it also means that we have to keep a closer eye on you. You finally decided to start saying, "Da-Da!" We took our first trip to Seattle with you, well, to Bothell actually for Aunt Tess' surprise party. You did so great in the car both ways, and so great the whole trip. You even got better acquainted with your Grandpa Frank. You would see him from across the room, point at him, and say, "MMMM," which means you wanted to see him. It was great to see you finally decide you are comfortable with your Grandpa. You are adjusting to drinking cows milk-still not super fond of it-you prefer juice-but you are finally starting to transition. And you are almost sleeping through the night. You actually have a few times lately (but somehow Mommy is still super tired). And last but not least, we have been teaching you the words yes and no. Mommy will say to you, "Camden, are you tired? Yes?," and you will nod your head yes. You are really comprehending so much now, if you could speak all the words you know you would have quite a large vocabulary. What an eventful July!

Happy Fourth of July!

It has become tradition to spend the 4th up at the cabin. So this is your second trip to the cabin in your little lifetime, and you were actually old enough to enjoy it a little. You had a great time playing with the toys Grandma had out for you, tasting watermelon, and testing out Grandpa's boat!

Park Fun

Some random shots of our wonderful day at the park on Indian Trail. We went there knowing we would swing you, take you down the slide, and hang out an a blanket in the grass. But we did not realize that you, our spunky, fearless child, would be so interested in the splash pad! You were so serious about it, but had a great time freezing your little piggies off in the icy water. You must have just thought that you were one of the big kids running around. We did not come prepared with swim trunks, or even a towel but we let you run through the fountains all you wanted. We found out that day that ours is a true water baby and the answer to the question of should we get a kiddie pool this summer was instantly answered!

We're Back!

Hello dedicated followers! I am so sorry to be away for so long! I hear many of you saying you keep checking for a new post...and there has not been one for over 2 months! Well, life has become so busy since Camden has decided to become more mobile. I do not get to do much of anything when he is awake. He wants to move when he plays now, but still needs assistance in doing so. I miss the days when I could surf the net or write an email with one hand while he slept in my arms. Those were the days!
But now that the birthday party is over, I can start to catch up on here a little! So what I am going to try to do is go back to where I left off and work my way to the present. But scroll around a little because I might not have them all in exact order. I do want to post the party pictures asap, so if I do, make sure you check the times in between. Ok, so check back, and I will do what I can to catch you all up on our life! -Jessica

Double Binkies!

I must say Mr. Camden, you are the most talented binky tamer I have ever seen! You practiced and practiced until you were able to figure out how to fit 2 in your mouth at once (and we have even seen you do 3 and 4 with Daddy's help).

Working Hard

Lately you have been working at trying to pull up on the coffee table. And it is hard work! You are not quite there yet, but you try. All I tell you is that you would have a much easier time with things like this now if you would have just decided to crawl months ago and build up those arm muscles. You don't even know what to do with your little legs yet, but you are trying-and Mommy is here to help you!

Thing One and Thing Two

These days you have been testing your grasping skills. We recently bought you a darling picnic basket that came with plastic food and you try to hold two items in one hand at once. You are actually quite impressive with how well you can hold more than one object at a time. And the other thing you do is try to put two items in your mouth at once. So sometimes it will be something like this plastic orange plus your binkie! It is quite funny to watch these little things that you do. I remember months ago it was about holding and turning your binkie over and over and over. And that helped you learn how to turn it to get the right side in your mouth. And now you are a professional with that binkie-so it will be interesting to see where this lead you!

Your Binkies

Just a note: Your doctor says it is time to start to break you of this habit, that you need to be done with using binkies by the time you are 15 months old. How are we supposed to do that? You love them so much (I never would have guessed you would be so attached!) I say to myself, "Ok, we are going to only give you one at nap time today", but then I end up giving you one because it calms you. You ask for them if you see them sitting out on the counter or around the house. You carry an extra in case of an emergency. You know how to do binky tricks, like holding 2 in your mouth at once. How am I ever going to be able to keep them from you? How are we ever going to meet this 15 month deadline?

Finally!

A year after your birth you finally got to meet your Aunt Rachael and Uncle's Dalton and Malcolm! This was one of my goals for this summer-to arrange a time to get together with these crazy kids. They came for your birthday party with Grandma Ellen, but unfortunately had car troubles and missed the party! But they were still able to make it over that evening and spend a few days with us. All three of them were pretty excited to meet you. And you were just starting to warm up to them when it was time for them to leave. Let's just hope we can get together for another visit with them this summer!

Your Birthday Cake

In celebration of your special day, Mommy made you a homemade cake with blue frosting. Yes, I said blue frosting. Now why would Mommy make such a bad choice and frost your cake in blue? It was partly a trial run for the party, but it also just seemed fun. Well, it probably did not seem so fun to Daddy, who was cleaning your highchair afterward with a toothpick! There was blue frosting everywhere including on you, who immediately was taken in for a bath! But you absolutely loved every crumb of that cake! I was so glad that I gave you just a piece and not the whole thing because I seriously think you may have tried to eat it all if I would have given it to you. You worked on your piece for quite a while, eating it slowly, savoring every bite! It was a great way to end a great day.

Happy Twelve Month Birthday!

Hip-hip-hooray! Look who is having a birthday! Daddy and I cannot believe that we have been taking your picture with a special birthday treat since you were one week old! What a fun tradition this has been! How big you have become! And how interested you are in these tasty treats now! We love you little guy-thanks for being our sweetest little baby!

The Birthday Balloon

Where are we Little Bear? Yes, we are at the grocery store to buy you a birthday balloon!

You could not believe it when the worker handed you your very own balloon!

You were pretty excited about it!

We knew with how much you love to look for balloons every time we go to the store, that we had to get you one for your birthday. We met Daddy at the store when he got off of work, and we picked out one together that we thought you might like. We took it home with us, and you thought it was pretty cool to have it to play with. Happy birthday Little Bear-so glad we could do something special like this just for you!
