Well, you really were not so sure what to think of this contraption we put you in. I of course made the mistake of turning it right after setting you in it so that I could see you. And that of course made you cry. So we took you out, comforted you, then tried again. And the second time you still were not so sure what to make of it, but you were interested in the toys on it. We could not get you to stand straight up, so you looked like you would have fallen over if you could. This is a toy that will take a little time, but I think that now that you are becoming more active, and like to stand, that it will be a place you will spend a lot of time.

Four Months Old
Oh my goodness! Look who is getting so big! Four months have already passed! Hard to imagine. This last month there were not a ton of new developments, but you are continuing to perfect some from last month like grabbing. You now know how to tell your hand to move toward the thing you want to touch or hold. (No more batting towards it, just a nice smooth movement). You also do a great job when you are on your belly! You can hold your head up so well for a long time now. One really fun thing that you just started is laughing when we tickle you on the belly or the ribs, or nibble on your neck or fingers. And you love to laugh when we suspend you in the air above us. Hearing your laughter and seeing you smile are surely two of the most wonderful things on this earth! You have just recently started taking a nap at 5:30 pm-which is quite funny since you are usually ready for bedtime at 7pm. You seem to be getting better with car rides again. We sure went through a tough time for a while. And Mommy even got to sit in the front with Daddy recently! You really like to kick your feet and grab your wash cloth (and chew on it of course) while in the bath. You still love your elephant mobile. It will be a sad day when you outgrow it. We just love to see you react to it when we wind it up. And you recently found that you can push the buttons with your feet on your crib soother toy. You HATE having shirts put over your head. You know when I am about to, and you get a funny look on your face. Mommy feels bad-there is just no easy way to do it! Your hair continues to go through stages of coming in in one area and falling out in another. But it is thickening on top and getting pretty dark. You moved in to size 2 diapers, and you weigh 14 pounds 4 ounces around the middle of September. This month we bought your Halloween costume, a binky strap, and bookcase for your room. And your new nickname: King of Drool-I think you are at the beginning stage of teething because of all the drooling and chewing you are doing. Fun. And can I just say how happy of a baby you are! I think there are many days where you really don't cry at all. You are just so easy going and we love your happy little personality!

Playing With Your Cousins
Oh, how fun visiting with your cousins was for you this time! You were making Ethan laugh when your binky dropped out of your mouth onto the couch. And when he started to laugh, you noticed, and thought HE was being funny! So we did it again, and he laughed, and you squealed! Wonderful. Just wonderful. And look at you next to Rylan! You two are starting to look like you could be play mates pretty soon! (I think you are starting to catch up to him in size).

Only Daddy
Only Daddy can hold you just right in this position. The both of you found this position long ago when you were newborn and he would try to sooth you by holding and walking you around. And to this day, when he puts you in his arm like this you go limp and become completely relaxed and fall asleep. This is your special thing. And I like that the two of you have a special thing.

Have You Ever?
So tell me...
have you ever....
seen a baby...
take a bath....
in a giant cup before?
have you ever....
seen a baby...
take a bath....
in a giant cup before?
This was a gift that we received called a European Spa Baby. It is essentially a giant clear cup. And we were a little unsure of how Camden would react to being set in such a thing. But I got curious one day and had to give it a try. So I filled it with warm water up to the "Fill" line, and stuck him in it. And I would have to say-he kinda liked it! Once I set him in it, the water went up to his chest, keeping him nice and warm. I think he is now at the age where he wants to move around more in the bath, but it will be fun to use-once in a while. And his favorite part? Not when Mommy was taking pictures of him, but when I stood him up and he could kick and make the water splash! He loved figuring that one out.

ELEPHANTS!!!!
You LOVE to watch your elephant mobile. Each morning I set you in your crib to watch them twirl around and sing Rock-a-bye Baby to you. You get so very excited when you hear me wind up the music box that you start kicking your legs, flapping your arms, and panting like a puppy! Then, once they start twirling we get some pretty crazy expressions from you-some of which look a little more like you are frightened than excited. But you are excited for sure-because then come the squeals! I just love that you get so excited for your elephants each day and I hope that you continue to for a long time in the future!

That Other Baby
The Back of Your Sweet Head
Is it silly to talk about how cute I think the back of your head is? Maybe, but I don't care because it is something I love about you. It's a funny thing, because even though I spend all day with you, I rarely see the back of your head-you are always facing me. So when I see it, I just love it! I guess as you get older and are on your belly more, I will get used to seeing it and it wont seem so rare. But for now it's an exciting thing to see!
The New Blue Binky
What a sad day it was last Friday. We went shopping for a new binky. Not because we lost the original, but just because it was time to retire it. It is a bit of a sentimental issue for Mommy and Daddy. We have seen you with the original one since your birth-the nurses gave it to you in the nursery. So, to think of you with a different binky is kind of hard. But this one looks pretty cute on you, so I think it will be ok, and I am sure Mommy and Daddy will become attached to this one also!
