Three Months Old!

At the beginning of your third month we have so much to report! You have been changing so much, especially in the last two weeks. You have become interested in everything around you. So you have decided the best way to see it all is to hold your head up and straighten your back unsupported when we carry you around. You also love to stand and usually don't even have wobbly legs anymore! You just started to like when we bounce you up and down while you are standing. That one usually gets you to laugh or squeal. We finally caught your smile on camera. We got your first professional pictures done-but there were no smiles to be had. (That's okay though). We are starting to hear the beginning of laughs! No big chuckles yet, just little "ha-ha" sounds. Love it! Looking forward to more of that! You have found yourself in the mirror! You love to smile, talk to, and squeal at the baby in the mirror. You still love your fists and chew on them a lot-often choosing them over your binky! You just love to wake up between 5-6 am almost every morning. I find you kicking and playing in your crib. But that is too early for Mommy, so I usually bring you back to bed for snuggles (and can usually get you to sleep a little longer). You may be getting up that early because you have set yourself a bed time. You start getting fussy and need snuggles around 7 pm, and by 8 (or sometimes 9) you are asleep for the night. So, the goal is to have you ready for bed by 8. And you are still waking up every few hours to eat. After our long trip to Montana, you have still decided you don't enjoy the car seat and arch your back when we try to put you in it. And there is usually a lot of crying any distance we drive. You have found the kitties! You like to watch them walk around, and have even talked to and squealed at Ranger. And you have discovered something we don't want you looking at-the tv. We cannot keep you from watching it when you know that it is on. So, as you can guess, it's not on very often. You are really liking your bath time and love when I pour water over your belly. You also love to be naked when I change your diaper. There have been a few times that you have kinda yelled at me when I try to put one on you. So, almost every change, you get some airing out time where you can kick your legs and move freely! Still one of your favorites: your elephant mobile! We lay you under it every morning while I get my coffee and breakfast. We are also trying to make time in the mornings for tummy time. You are getting really good at holding your head up. And the other night you even did a new trick and rolled onto your side! Open mouth kisses are one of your other new tricks. I was not sure what you were trying to do the first time you were leaning your head toward me with your mouth wide open, but I found out quick that you just wanted to eat my face a little. Yes, we are at the phase where everything goes in your mouth. So, to sum it all up-you have become very active and very fun. You really fill Mommy's day and it is exciting to continue to see all of the new things you are figuring out. I just cannot believe you have been in our home living with us for 3 months now! Love You!
