Mail Truck!

Every afternoon around 3pm we go to the window to watch the mail man pull up across the street to deliver the mail. You hear Mommy say, "Mail truck!!!", and you know exactly what that means. You stand on the couch and watch as he puts the mail into every box. I am not sure if it is the actual truck that interests you so, or the mail man himself, but you watch attentively every single day.

You Ate What I Ate

Tonight for dinner Mommy had chicken alfredo, garlic bread, peas, and sliced red peppers. You had your usual bland, boring, pureed baby food. You realized that what Mommy was eating was way better than what you were eating. So you started to grawl and yell at me to share my dinner with you. So I did. And you LOVED it! You could not eat it fast enough to satisfy your little tummy or your little taste buds. So, I guess it is officially the first real food meal you have ever had and I will have to share my food more often!

Visiting With Family

Today we had visitors. Grandpa Terry, Grandma Carol, Aunt Heather, Ethan and Rylan all came over for a little visit. We have not gotten together with them since before Christmas. So I thought that getting you together this time with Rylan, we might see some interaction...but no. You ran around in your walker as he watched, but you are just not to the age of playing together yet I guess. But I look forward to the day you do-it is so cool that your two cousins close in age live so close by!

Birthday Buddies

Today you and Harley are birthday buddies! Which is fitting, since you really are buddies! He turned a whopping 5 years old today and you turned 10 months.

Happy Ten Month Birthday!

*This month we celebrated with a homemade lime cupcake with fresh strawberry frosting.*

Bath Baby!

Just for fun...it's bath baby! Did you know that we have a bath routine? Bath day is every Sunday and Wednesday (and I guess we will have to add another day in there when you get a little older and start to lose that sweet baby smell). I never would have thought I would live on such a schedule with you. But it really is helpful because being a new, tired Mommy is not always easy-your brain does not always remember things like when you were bathed last. Anyway, you love your bath time. We still use your infant tub, and you always have a few toys in there to play with. You have never been one to complain about the bath, but you have never been one to complain about much at all. (Hopefully we will be able to keep that up). Love you and your cute little wet head.

Ten Months Old

What a memorable ninth month we had! It was full of 3 not so fun trips to the doctor. Well, the first of the 3 was not so bad-it was just your nine month check up. No shots this time, so that was good. But we did spend a lot of time with the doctor talking about your height and weight because it turns out that you're only in the fourth percentile for weight! And your percentile continues to fall at each check up. I promise we have never starved you, you just seem to be a very tall and thin baby. Your next visit was to meet a g.i. specialist to try to figure out why you have been vomiting for the past 3 months without reason. We had to go through some not so fun tests with you there that day, and also found out that we would be taking you next to Sacred Heart's radiology department to have a stomach emptying study done to see if that could be the problem. So, that day we had a radioactive baby! They gave you this fluid along with formula that they could see on an x-ray type machine to see if your food digests slowly, or within a normal time period. This whole experience was stressful for all 3 of us. It was stressful for Mommy because we were not made aware of the fact that you would have to stay strapped down to a table for a full hour to complete the study. It was also stressful because you were supposed to eat a full bottle quickly in order to start the study. But you did not feel like taking the bottle. And it was stressful for you because you had to lay on that table with a x-ray machine 6 inches from your face for the full hour. You did well for the most part, but cried for a while towards the end. And it was stressful for your Daddy because he had to deal with both of us feeling stressed. The good news from all of this is that there is not anything popping up wrong. But the bad news is that means we have to continue to try to figure out what this could all be caused by.

We did really enjoy the visit from Tess and family. You enjoyed it too. It took you a little while to warm up to everyone, but after an hour or so you were being yourself, running around and yelling a lot.

The weather has been starting to get a little more springy-so Mommy decided to try to take you outside on the patio in your walker. And...YOU LOVED IT! Back and forth across the patio you would run. We cannot spend a lot of time out there yet because it is still too cold, but you did enjoy it so much that as soon as we came inside, you were looking out the window again!

You are just such an awesome baby. I have to say it over and over because even though I spend each day with you, it still blows my mind all of the time how much I love you, how fun you are, and how much I just love being your Mommy. We spend so much time together and I just feel so close to you. And as you get older and I get to know you more and more, my love for you just keeps growing. And you obviously love me and your Daddy too because you are always so happy to be with us, give us lots of loves, and enjoy playing with us. Thank you so much for filling our days with so much happiness!
