One Month Old

Happy One Month Birthday!

At the end of your first month, there is so much to look back on! You have changed so very much. You have recently started looking at bold items around the house. You like to look at your curtains while you nurse, and you r elephant canvas while you get your diaper changed. You can also see the elephant canvas from across your room, which really amazes me. It has just been so exciting to see your vision improve and to see the things that you like to look at. You are also starting to outgrow some of your first clothing items! The tiny socks we bought you to start out with are not fitting so well. And some of your 0-3 month bodysuits are being stretched to their limits. I really did not think that you would be outgrowing things in your first month! We have watched your little eyelashes grow from almost nothing in the beginning to a beautiful long length the last 3 weeks. You love to kick on your change table. You also started to sleep in your crib regularly at night. And you have just grown so much. You started at 8lbs. 8oz. and ended the month at 10lbs. 4oz. You have gone through so many changes this month including holding your head up for bits at a time, sleeping longer through the night, making little coos and happy sounds. Seeing you so active and alert makes us so excited to see the baby you are still to become!

You Kick

You have just started to kick and lift your legs when we take your pants off to change your diaper. It is adorable to see you lift them and touch your feet together in the air. Your change table has to be your favorite place to be. You talk to us and smile a lot while you are on there. For a lot of diaper changes we end up just hanging out there for 10 or more minutes while you enjoy your kicking time. And you also know that your elephant canvas is above it, and you love to stare at it. It is so amazing to see how you have changed in this last month Baby Boy!

Your Toy

Today you discovered your first toy! I just thought I would try it out to see what you thought. And you loved it! I was so excited! The eyes light up, and that was the part you liked the most. I could not believe how much you just stared at it! That's it-to the store to get every light-up toy they have!

Your 1st Father'sDay

I have not been so excited for a holiday in a long time! Actually, that might go for both Mommy and Daddy. I started planning a few days ahead by first going to Gymboree to pick up the sweetest little t-shirt that said, "Daddy Loves Me". Then I headed to Target to pick up a digital photo frame for Jamie to take to work. I put the Baby in his shirt first thing in the morning and set up the bouncy seat on the kitchen table so Baby could watch Daddy open his gift and card. We went to our favorite little bakery for breakfast called the Petit Chat. And Camden slept the whole time in his car seat carrier, so we actually got to eat our pastries in peace. The rest of the day was actually quite uneventful with naps, dinner at Qdoba, and a quick visit to Grandma and Grandpa's. We had a little pastry for Grandpa and a card from Camden. Grandpa thought that it was pretty cool to get a card from Camden. All in all, I thought it was the perfect day. And Daddy agreed.

Three Weeks Old

Three weeks into this and things are finally starting to feel normal again. But I am still not getting any sleep and walk around here without a functioning brain. Today, June 13, your umbilical cord finally fell off (thank goodness cause it was starting to look a little nasty). And Daddy fed you your first bottle. You did alright with that, but it took you a little while to figure out. And...I even had time to make you a cake! We enjoy every moment with you-you are such a joy! Love you little bear.

You Go Places

You are just 3 weeks old, and you go places....or should I say you LET US go places! Just the usuals like Target and Michael's. But it feels great to not be such a prisoner of our own house all of the time.

Waking Up (Is Hard To Do)

I could not help but snap photo after photo of Baby Boy one day while waking up. We have been watching him go through a pretty long process of trying to wake up and it is pretty funny . There are plenty of stretches, grunts, and yawns.

Two Weeks Old

Life is very busy. This week we did not even have time to get you a cake for your two week celebration. Thank goodness for Grandparents who live close by and are willing to run to the store to buy one silly cupcake.

The Taj Mahal

It swings. It sings. It swivels. It even has a mobile. Grandma Jacquie calls it the Taj Mahal of baby swings. You just know it's where you go when Mommy needs to get some things done. But you approve of this fancy, snugly, soothing babysitter.

Boon, this is Camden. Camden, this is Boon.

Boon, this is Camden. Camden, this is Boon, and Hudson, and Addison! We were so very excited to bring over the baby to Grandma Jacquie's house to introduce him to his cousins (plus it was the first time that Camden was visiting at Grandma and Grandpa's) . And they were very excited to meet him! Boon came running up from playing downstairs and said, "Where's Baby Choppy?! Can I hold him?!" So, Camden got his share of snuggles from cousins, aunts and uncles that day. While Boon was holding the baby, he decided to take off baby's socks to check out his tiny toes and feet. Boon starts to laugh while covering his mouth because he could not believe just how tiny his toes were. It was so wonderful to watch how excited Boon and Hudson were to meet their newest baby cousin. And to see how loved our baby is by our family already.
